ABOUT THE FRANCHISE HOLDER CROWN OF BEAUTY JAMAICA LIMITED
Crown of Beauty Jamaica Limited was incorporated in Kingston, Jamaica in January 2018 prior to its application to the Miss World Organization for licence to stage the Miss Jamaica World pageant as a precursor to the Miss World competition. The franchise agreement was signed in March 2018 between Miss World Limited in London, and Crown of Beauty Jamaica Limited.
Crown of Beauty Jamaica’s principals are local playwright and impresario Aston Cooke and veteran entertainment specialist Weston Haughton.
Aston Cooke is recipient of ten national Actor Boy Awards for outstanding achievement in Jamaican theatre and an inductee to the Caribbean Hall of Fame for Arts and Culture. Cooke also served as Board Chairman of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission during 2013 and 2016.
Weston Haughton is a former cultural director for the Sandals Group and has produced many of the Miss Jamaica World coronation shows over the years. Haughton is the Artistic Director of the Powerful Women and Men Perform for charity production.
Crown of Beauty Jamaica Ltd seeks to recruit the best Jamaican lady to represent the country at the Miss World Pageant. This will be achieved by unearthing, training, and unveiling the nation’s finest women through a national search and casting alongside intensive grooming, coaching and preparation that will culminate with the coronation of the best ambassador, Miss Jamaica World.
Crown of Beauty Jamaica Limited seeks to advance and support today’s Jamaican women while embracing the Miss World philosophy of Beauty with a Purpose.
