This Saturday\u2019s show will be the platform where the 2010 MJW Sponsors will be bestowed with the task of randomly selecting and sashing – courtesy of Supreme Ventures\u2019 and their gaming machine – their company\u2019s Miss Jamaica World representative and then officially presenting them to the public at large.

\nOver 60 prospective candidates from across the island turned up on Thursday, July 15, 2010 to the private eliminations session held at the Spartan Health Club,\u00a0 all hoping to get their chance to be the next Miss Jamaica World Ambassador to represent Jamaica in the upcoming 2010 Miss World Pageant.

\nChief Judge of the MJW pageant for over 15 years Mr. Tommy James , Pageant Director \u2013 Dr Terri – Karelle Griffith Reid \u2013 Miss Jamaica World 2005, Pageant Coordinator- Ms Sara Lawrence, MJW 2006 and fourth in Miss World Pageant, Ms Laurel Demercado- a former Miss Jamaica Title Holder,\u00a0 Ms Tracey Hamilton \u2013 CEO Tracey Hamilton & Associates\u00a0 Event Planner\/PR Practitioner and MJW Public Relations Coordinator, Mr. Marcel Robinson- CEO\u00a0 Interlinc Communications and MJW Website designer, and Mr. Mickey Haughton-James- Spartan Health Club proprietor and Franchise owner of the prestigious Miss Jamaica World Competition\u00a0 were the judges on hand who were given the tough task to\u00a0 narrow the entrants\u00a0 to the required contest amount.

\nIn\u00a0 an effort to secure another outstanding Jamaican representative to the Miss World competition,\u00a0 the contestants will in the weeks preceding Coronation Night, scheduled for August 21 at the Jamaica Pegasus be put through a mandatory training regimen which will include exercise, grooming, deportment and speech training by renowned grooming specialist Miss Beverley Corke, who has trained and groomed many distinguished Miss Jamaica World representatives, who have done this country proud by placing in\u00a0 either the top 15, 10, 5 or has had the privilege of being the title winner in Miss World competitions. Complementing the grooming course will be Norma Brown-Bell a stalwart in the\u00a0\u00a0 broadcaster and communications field – and the Spartan Personal trainers who will have direct responsibility for the ladies physical appearances.<\/p>\nAs potential Jamaican Ambassadors, the girls will make courtesy calls to Government Officials, Sponsors and Media Houses. This year the girls will work very closely with the charity organization PALS which endorses this year\u2019s theme of PEACE AND LOVE. Their itinerary will also facilitate visits to places of interest and fun, including a much anticipated \u201cMiss Jamaica World Week\u201d at The Grand Palladium Resort & Spa. The contestants are competing for the prestigious crown and Title of Miss Jamaica World 2010 and the chance to be the next representative to the 2010 Miss World pageant in Sanya, China.\u00a0<\/p>\n
