Meet Brittany Pink, Contestant No. 16 who wears the sash Miss Klip Xtreme. Born in Kingston and raised in the cool St. Catherine Hills, 23 year-old Brittany Pink attended the Convent of Mercy Academy “Alpha”, where she received several awards for outstanding performance in CSEC in 4th and 5th forms, then completed a further two (2) years at the CAPE level. She entered the University of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Information Technology, majoring in Enterprise Systems, with emphasis on Website Creation using .NET and HTML, as well as Database Design in SQL and Oracle. Actively interested in the welfare of others Brittany is a Certified Community Educator on HIV/AIDS and she has participated in her church’s Youth Consultation on HIV and AIDS. As an active member of the Anglican Youth Fellowship at the Local, Area and National Council levels since 2006, she is involved in outreach endeavours such as visits to Shut-Ins, the Infirmary and Children’s Homes and through the group’s Sports Ministry, reaching unattached inner city Spanish Town youth through sports and the creative arts. First child of Jacqueline and third child of Hhoman, this down-to-earth and approachable July- born beauty teaches Sunday school children aged 2- 6 years. As a lover of the Performing Arts she is a member of Movements Dance Company of Jamaica. Brittany has taught dance to her fellow youth fellowship members, helping to prepare them to perform at various church fairs and services. She has also been double graded to a Yellow Belt with the Jamaica Taekwondo Association at UTech. A future Aviation Specialist and recipient of the Janet Lindsay Award for Excellence in English Brittany placed 2nd and 1st in the UTech Wellness Poster Competition in 2012 and 2013 respectively and was the winner of the Jamaica Library Service’s 60th Anniversary Essay Competition in 2009.
