The 20 MJW hopefuls and the President of the Rotary Club of Kingston

The 20 finalists in the Miss Jamaica World 2011 Pageant were hosted as guests at the luncheon of the Kingston and St. Andrew Rotary Club at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel. It is a tradition of the pageant to be hosted by the Rotary Club where three of the ladies are chosen to address the gathering on any topic on their choice. The contestants engaged in conversation with the members of the club who had encouraging words to offer the contestants for the competition and life on a whole. While the girls shared their thoughts about their life’s aspirations there were others who were being informed about the role of the Rotary Club in the society. Three of the 20 contestants were given the opportunity to address the club members. Miss Dunns Electrical, Lisa Willams spoke about the importance of supporting Jamaica’s film industry.  Miss Acropolis Gaming and Entertainment Centre Reeshma Ragbeer spoke on issues such as Youth empowerment while Miss Bucmars Inc, Dahlia Dwyer was the other contestant to address the gathering and spoke about the deeper meaning of vying for the crown and what the importance of service is as a Miss Jamaica World.

The Rotarians showed their appreciation for the ladies by presenting each one with a token of appreciation. The 3 speakers for the day’s proceeding were given special mementos for their contributions. The ladies will be participating in the Sports Fast Track competition on September 2, 2011.
