New Queen to Receive a New Crown

The Miss Jamaica World 2010 pageant presented by the Spartan Health Club and Stewart Motors seeks to showcase the talent, beauty, and intellect of young Jamaican women. So far, the pageant has been abuzz with exciting new features; the 2010 theme- “Peace and Love, Jamaica”, the new organizing committee (Dr. Terri-Karelle Reid, Ms Jamaica World 2005, Sara Lawrence, Ms Jamaica World 2006 and Regina Beavers, Ms Jamaica World 2001), the patronage of Tourism Minister, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, the VIP week at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa, the Seaview Gardens beautification project, the inner city visit with the PALS organization and the 2011 Mini Cooper S courtesy of Stewart Motors, provider of the “Official Car” of the MJW 2010 Pageant.

As if that weren’t enough on August 21, 2010 at the Pageant Final, the new queen will boast being the first to wear a brand new crown. The 2010 Miss Jamaica World crown entitled the “World Beauty Pageant Crown” is a stunning creation set on high lustre silver tone metal and crafted with hundreds of faceted imported European crystals. The sweeping scrollwork is inspired in old world craftsmanship and reflects both the glamour and elegance of the international beauty pageants. The crown measures 7 inches high by almost 8 inches in width and wears easily with pins and a well arranged hair style.

With about 3 more weeks to go till the Grand Coronation Show, the ladies will compete in the MJW Beach Beauty, MJW Model, MJW Sport and MJW Beauty with a Purpose Fast Track Competitions with the hope of being fast tracked into the Top 10 at the Pageant Final on August 21, 2010.
