Chantal Raymond, MJW 2010 Visits Riverton City Early Childhood Centre
Chantal Raymond, along with chaperone Dr. Terri-Karelle Reid and the Students for Transformation (SFT) team were welcomed by the students and staff of Riverton City Early Childhood Centre. The children (ages 2-5) were thrilled as Chantal distributed colouring books “Rights and Responsibilities of the Young Citizen” and participated in the fun exercise.
Riverton City often known as just a dumping ground has quite a lively community. The Riverton City Early Childhood Centre educates the children from the Riverton City Community, as well as other neighbouring innercities. The very friendly and competent staff was seen conducting classes, preparing lunch and keeping order effortlessly.
Although the seats were indeed made for the little students, Chantal and visitors were more excited about colouring with the children as they were concerned with how tight a squeeze it was. Hopefully later in the year a book drive may be done to assist the Riverton City Early Childhood Centre with more children’s books.
It was a great experience and the MJW Organization will definitely ensure that other queens visit
