Jamaican looks towards greater Hollywood success

Trishauna Clarke, a runner-up in the Miss Jamaica World 2012 contest, is bursting at the seams with excitement over the direction of her acting career in the United States of America.

“I’m very excited and blessed to have gotten the opportunity of being on the ABC TV show The Catch. With hard work, dedication and God all things are possible,” Clarke, who now resides in Hollywood, California, told Loop News through an intermediary.

“There will be two movies that will be airing this year that I play in. Greater is a true story that is set in Arkansas and will be airing summer 2016. No More Mr Nice Guy will be airing the end of this year. That’s an action movie where you will get to see some of my fighting skills. For both movies we are awaiting the release dates,” she said.

Clarke’s role on the ABC drama The Catch is reportedly a recurring one. Mireille Enos and Peter Krause star in the drama.

In it, Clarke portrays the character ‘Tasha’, an educated, well-kept woman dating a high-profiler.

Clarke, who was born in Kingston, has reportedly been acting since five years old while attending the Stella Maris Preparatory, on Shortwood Road, in St Andrew.

Her first reported acting gig was a Nestle Milk television commercial. Recent credits include commercials for Gatorade, Lexus (Super Bowl), and Puma Jam with Usain Bolt. She was also featured in BET’s 2010 edition of Rip the Runway.

Clarke graduated the University Of Miami, in Florida, with a Bachelor of Science in nursing, and later earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology at Florida Atlantic University.

She took acting lessons in Florida and Los Angeles, attending the Imagined Life Acting School.

“I thank God, my family, supporters, managers, and agents for believing in me every step of the way and sticking by my side,” she told Loop News.

She added: “My fellow Jamaican supporters mean the world to me because it’s such a great feeling to know I have an extended family. They supported me throughout both pageants and now my acting career. Huge thank you to Laura Butler for the guidance throughout my last year in Jamaica and for the encouragement that if I leap the net will always appear.”
