Miss Jamaica World 2010 to receive $ 652, 106.28 Adamas International jewellery suite
Premier diamond company Adamas International has designed an elegant suite of jewellery for the winner of the Miss Jamaica World 2010 pageant. The suite, consisting of a diamond and ruby necklace and earrings, will be presented to this year’s Miss Jamaica World during the Grand Coronation on August 21st.
The lucky winner from among this year’s 16 contestants will receive a necklace and matching drop earrings. The suite is simple yet sophisticated in design and has a contemporary flair. Adamas International designed the y-form necklace as a single ruby strand embellished with several diamond circles. From the centre of the necklace hangs a ruby drop that terminates in another circle. The matching ruby drop earrings are embellished with circles at each end. The circle theme reflects the eternal continuity of life, while the rubies symbolize ideal qualities of Miss Jamaica World herself: perceptiveness, compassion, gentleness, individuality, originality, and initiative.
The necklace and earrings were designed and made in Canada and consist of 100 round diamonds, each 0.03ct, which originated in South Africa and were cut in India. One hundred and twenty-five diamond-cut rubies, each 0.03ct, were also used for the suite. The rubies originate in Moguk, Burma, and were purchased from Thailand. These precious gems were set in 18k white gold weighing a total of 16 grams. The appraised value of the necklace and earrings is over $8000.00 CAD (J$ 652, 106.28)
Following the pageant, the public will have a unique opportunity to view Miss Jamaica World’s exquisite Adamas-designed jewellery suite during her Miss World Wardrobe showing.
