2010 MJW Contestants were “Fierce, Fabulous and Fly” at The Deck- Salome Campbell, Miss Osmosis Wins MJW 2010 Soft Sheen Carson Fast Track Model Competition

On Tuesday, August 10, 2010, The Deck off Trafalgar was transformed into a fashionista’s playground. If you were not there you missed quite a fashion show as the 2010 Miss Jamaica World Contestants turned into Supermodels and rocked the Deck’s 2-stage runway much to the patron’s delight. They showcased sleek long flowing, Caribbean- inspired casual wear from T&T Fashion House, contemporary city-chic Haute Couture designs by Keneea Linton and strutted their stuff in “divalicious shoes” by Traffic Mode.

With  all the right model attributes – height, grace, style, striking facial features and charm, Miss Osmosis – Salomie ‘Naomi’ Campbell, Miss Jamaica World contestant number 16, spared no effort as she cat walked down the runway in true Supermodel Naomi Campbell style. The judges of the Soft Sheen Carson MJW Model Fast Track competition were Tommy James-Chief judge, Dr. Terri-Karelle Reid- General Manager of Spartan Health Club & 2010 Pageant Director, Deiwgt Peters – CEO Saint International Model Agency, Beverley Corke –Corporate Image Consultant responsible for the Grooming and Stage Presentation of the Finalists, Roxene Nickle- Alvaranga – Media Practitioner, Producer and Presenter and Ms. Reginia Beavers- Miss Jamaica World 2001, TV Presenter/Producer and 2010 Pageant Coordinator .

For the Fast Track Model Competition the girls were judged on the following criteria; Style – how well the fashions were presented to the audience, grace on stage, personality in showcasing the pieces worn, technique and overall ability to show garment and work the stage and audience.

The night’s programme was ably managed by Master M.C. s – Paula Ann Porter Jones and Miss Jamaica World 2006 and Co-Pageant Coordinator Miss Sara Lawrence and included a musical tribute to the contestants by Denver D and Company.

After little deliberation the judges’ top three were announced – 3rd place going to Deandra Doyley – Contestant #4 Miss Alcor Windows and Doors, second place winner went to Miss Geddes Refrigeration, Miss Chantal Raymond and Miss Salome Campbell copping the 1st place spot.  

The elated contestant was not only crowned The Soft Sheen Carson MJW Fast Track Model for 2010 but she more importantly secured her spot as an automatic  10 top finalist in the upcoming Miss Jamaica World Coronation show to be held in the Ballroom of the Jamaica Pegasus, Saturday, August 21, 2010.

The Miss Jamaica World Supreme Ventures Sport Fast Track Competition is set for Monday August 16 at Spartan Health Club. Rehearsal and training continue daily until the grand Coronation show on Saturday August 21, 2010 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel Ballroom along with various Courtesy Calls to dignitaries, media and business houses.
