Sophia Harris-Lau appointed Spokesperson for SHC on MJW and Special Advisor to the Promoter
Always committed to higher education and self improvement. A hardworking and ambitious ‘Immaculate Girl’, successfully completed her Bachelors in Science (BSc.) from the University of The West Indies, Specializing in Business Management Studies. Then went on to successfully earn a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Miami, Florida, USA specializing in Marketing and Electronic-Commerce. Kick-started her career in Business as a General Manager of a thin-set manufacturing company.
Furthering her professional development, Ms. Harris-Lau has worked with focus and dedication over the last decade as a business strategy and business development consultant, establishing a solid reputation as an expert in her field. Whilst working with small to medium sized enterprises, helping them to formulate and execute successful growth strategies within a plethora of industries, she simultaneously spent the last four years developing a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Jamaica. As a senior executive within the SEZ, she worked with business partners across with globe and alongside a team of experienced entrepreneurs here in Jamaica, to successfully launch a cigarette manufacturing entity and a lubricant business from within that Zone, as its two flagship operations.
Ms. Harris-Lau has thus garnered, under her professional belt, significant expertise in Marketing, Business Development, General Management, International Business and Global Partner Negotiations.
Ms. Harris-Lau is now the Head of Marketing & Business Development at the Jamaica Football Federation.
With her significant experience and training in Marketing , Business Development, Business Management and most importantly her decades of commitment to health & fitness, specifically to the Spartan Health Club family and Mickey Haughton-James, we believe she is the perfect person to represent SHC on MJW and advise the Promoter in the development of SHC Projects.
