On Tuesday August 9, 2011 starting at 8pm all 20 finalists in the Miss Jamaica World 2011 beauty pageant will bring their A-game to Club Privilege for the Miss Jamaica World Model fast track event. Sponsored by SoftSheen Carson, the event will automatically propel the winner into the Top 10 before the coronation night on September 10th.
With all the right model attributes – height, grace, style, striking facial features and charm, each of the 20 finalists will be ruling the catwalk at Club Privilege with the hopes of winning over the judges and the patrons that will be in attendance. The fast track model competition is one of the most anticipated events of the competition and each year SoftSheen Carson looks forward to its staging. Andreen Bennett, Senior Marketing Manager at SoftSheen Carson spoke fondly of the event and how it has helped with the development of young ladies over the years. “This pageant is all about enhancing the natural beauty of a woman and that is what we are all about at SoftSheen Carson and as such we continue to partner with the pageant.” She further continued, “Apart from helping us to reach our target market, the Miss Jamaica World Pageant is a good package and the benefits from partnering with such a pageant and an event like this fast track event are insurmountable.
This year the event will be staged at the uber chic, Club Privilege in New Kingston where the 20 MJW finalists will individually and collectively model bikini swimwear courtesy of The Mushrooms and Uzuri International as well as original fashions courtesy of Minka. The night’s program will be ably managed by renowned M.C. Denise Hunt and Regina Beaver, Miss Jamaica World 2001. The event will be open to the public at a cover charge of $1,000 which includes the show and a complimentary cocktail upon entry. Other cocktails will be available at a reduced cost of $300. For the Fast Track Model Competition the girls will be judged on the following criteria; Style – how well the fashions were presented to the audience, grace on stage, personality in showcasing the pieces worn, technique and overall ability to work the stage and audience. The panel of judges for the night’s event will include: Sophia Maxbrown, Keneea Linton-George, Tommy James, Joan McDonald, Dweight Peters and Roxene Nickle. Last year Miss Osmosis, Salome Campbell captivated the audience and the judges with all the right model attributes – height, grace, style, striking facial features and charm, and walked away as the winner of the Miss Jamaica World fast track Model competition, cementing her place in the top 10 on coronation night.
