Miss Jamaica World, Chantal Raymond, was sent off last Monday with a wardrobe of clothing from local designers and stores in the Corporate Area.

Spartan Health Club, organisers of the beauty pageant, hosted their queen on the gymnasium’s premises on Lady Musgrave Road on September 22 to show off the apparel which was crafted and selected, just for her.

A total of 19 designers and stores showed just a few of the designs which were given to Raymond for her trip to Sanya, China.

Raymond, 24, modelled 24 outfits which fell in the categories of casual, city chic, smart day dresses, cocktail, evening wear and gowns.

Her swimsuits were courtesy of The Mushroom.

Eight local designers from The Jamaica Fashion and Apparel Cluster contributed pieces to the queen’s wardrobe. They included Akira Lyn, Anarcy Clothing, Heather Laine, Julan, Keneea Linton Designs, SAMJS Collection, Shades of Africa and T&T Fashions.

Her gowns were provided by MNM Couture, which is distributed by Bling Bling. This includes her final gown designed by Joe Dargham.

Other designers and fashion stores include Poshe, Xtras, Puma, Xing Designs Company and Soho Clothing.

Raymond will have to perform a traditional dance in her traditional costume. The costume was not available for showing but it is designed by Barry Moncrieffe and built by Audrey Mantoc.

Accessories were provided by Xtras, Bling Bling and Bubbles, Bangles and Beads. Raymond’s make-up was done by Marlene Gray for Maybelline, which is the official make-up provider of Miss Jamaica World. Her hair was styled by Pauline Facey-Blake.
