McKinley wins second Miss Jamaica World contest

R O S H E L L E McKinley, Miss Optical Solutions International, emerged winner in the Miss Jamaica World (MJW) 2015 Jergens Beach Beauty competition at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel’s poolside in St Andrew, on Saturday.

The event, which fasttracks the winner into top 15 semi-finalists, was the second in the series and had all 20 MJW contestants parading in swimwear. McKinley scored high marks from all judges in the categories best figure, symmetry, appeal, and proportions. She said she was happy to be selected as the best figure and overall winner.

“I take care of my body for a number of reasons and I do believe that I earned it for my hard work,” she said. Talia Soares, Miss Morfose Hair Care Services, was first runner-up and winner for Best Skin Tone while second runner-up went to Royanne DeSilva, Miss Future Energy Source.

The other two top five placements went to Cavel Campbell, Miss Nargia’s Beauty Experience, and Jovi Jaja, Miss Windy Air Conditioners.

The evening’s judges were Tommy James (chief judge), Sonia Alam, Spartan chief instructor Steve Ming, Sophia Max-Brown, and Laura Butler, franchise holder of the Miss Jamaica World Organization.

The Grand Coronation show for the Miss Jamaica World Pageant will be on August 15, 2015 at the Montego Bay Convention Center.
